The prestigious event was attended by Türkiye Handball Federation President Mesut Çebi, federation executives, former and current players, coaches, as well as presidents and officials from international handball federations.
During the gala night, the Türkiye Handball Federation's journey from its foundation to the present day was presented through a specially produced 50th anniversary documentary, highlighting the major milestones and achievements of Türkiye handball over the past five decades. Following the screening, President Mesut Çebi presented special awards to individuals who have made significant contributions to the development of handball in Türkiye.
Speaking to Hentbolhaber.Net ahead of the gala night, Mesut Çebi shared his feelings and thoughts with the following words:
'We are happy. Coming together here on the 50th anniversary of a half-century-long story, uniting our community, and seeing our elders, brothers and sisters all in one place truly makes us happy. I don't know if we will witness the 100th year, but we are very happy to be here for the 50th anniversary.'
'We carry the greatest excitement. Through this organization and our gala night, we want to show our community what Türkiye handball is and what it can become in the future. This will be the greatest proof of that. God willing, we will achieve this together by putting our hands under the stone as one — with our administrators, children, coaches, clubs, referees and observers. We will take Türkiye handball to the place we all dream of.'
'I watched the preview of the documentary. In that process, I realized that there is a past we, as the new generation, have never known or recognized, and I had the opportunity to discover it. Above all, I am very happy to experience this as a former handball player.'
